George K. Tinker, 94, of Fort Collins, CO and formerly of Newton and Upton, MA, and Port St. Lucie, FL, died Sunday, May 16, 2010. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Shea) Tinker, who died in 1973, and Christine (Heald) Schug Tinker, who died in 2006.

Mr. Tinker was born in the Roslindale section of Boston on January 22, 1916, the son of the late George K. and Margaret (Flinn) Tinker. He was a machinist with the New Haven Railroad, the Boston Herald, and the Boston Globe.

George came from a musical family.

He leaves three sons, Peter Tinker of New York City, NY, Paul Tinker of Plymouth, MA, and George Tinker of Oakland, CA; a stepson, Ric Schug of Loveland, CO; grandsons Michael and Kevin Tinker; and great-grandchildren Chloe and Benjamin Tinker.
