George Jouflas passed peacefully at age 89 on September 3, 2015. Those who knew and loved George knew him as “Jouf”. He is survived by his loving family: son Stephen and daughter Rebecca; their mother, Sharon; brothers Peter and Milt; his loved grandchildren Stephen, Christopher, David, Melissa, Brian, Ashleigh, and Nick; great grandchildren Konnor, James, and Evelyn. He was proceeded in death by his brother Nick. Jouf was born in Helper, UT to Anastasia and Ted Jouflas on March 6, 1926. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy 11 days after graduating from East High School in Salt Lake City, UT where his participation in WWII in the Philippines helped bring an end to the war. After his return he attended the University of Utah and was a member of Sigma Nu. He will join many brothers who have passed and those who remain will miss him dearly. Jouf’s career path took many turns as salesman, broker, and in financial products. He eventually called Phoenix, AZ his home from 1959 to the present where he enjoyed a love for golf year round. The Mob and the bandits will miss his humor, style and occasional exaggeration. (29 hole in ones, really, Jouf?)
