George H. Orrico

George Orrico formerly of Ridgefield, CT passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital with his family by his side after a long struggle with COPD. George was born on April 5, 1951, in Greenwich CT, son of the late Fred and Helen (Casey) Orrico.

George grew up in Ridgefield where he made many lifelong friends. After graduating from Ridgefield High School in 1969, he attended Stevens College and Western Connecticut State University before moving to Florida following the tragic death of his brother John in Vietnam. He returned to Ridgefield a few years later to help manage the family’s King Neptune Restaurant. After the original King Neptune closed, George and his brother Fred opened a new King Neptune in the spring of 1986, which they owned and operated together for 20 years. It was during this time he met and married his wife and best friend, Susie (Wajda) Orrico.

George loved to travel, and trips always included a beach, golf, and deep sea fishing. An avid golfer, he was a former member of the Ridgewood Country Club, where he married Susie overlooking the 18th hole, and where he eventually scored his elusive hole in one.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years Susie, his daughter and light of this life Kayleigh, brother Fred, mother in law Eva, sisters in law Betsy and Lily, nieces and nephews – Anthony, Emily, Michelle, Mathew, Corina, Erin, Evan and grandniece Avery. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
