George LaVerne Powell, December 5, 1952 – November 24, 2021, just 11 days before he turned 69. He was the beloved son of George A (deceased) and Eula Mae Powell. He is survived by his mother, father in-law, John Bereman and 4 grandchildren, Austin, Alyssa, Aidan and Jaxson. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Denise and Kindra, 1 brother, Mike, 2 brothers in-law, Hugh & Mike Bereman. Numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by Bobbee, his wife, George A Powell, his father, his 2 sons, Cole & Taylor and his brother, JD, 2 sisters in-law, Becky & Beth. The list of friends and extended family that GL lost is too extensive to list.
GL was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the oldest of 5 children to George & Eula Mae. The family lived in Kansas City until late 1969, at that time they moved to Texas. Their stay in Texas was brief as an employment opportunity presented itself in Colorado. The family packed up and moved to Colorado in the summer of 1970. GL graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1971. He worked at Southglenn Standard for several years. He also worked for Pat Dunahay & Associates (PDA). GL started his own body shop in Castle Rock and eventually bought Johnson Auto Body. He owned the body shop until November 2000 and started working in the remodeling business doing kitchens and baths. During this journey he made many friends.
