George F Stevens, Jr., 69, of Pendleton, passed away on October 28, 2012 at the Saint John’s Health System. He was born on May 2, 1943 in Rushville, Indiana and resided most of his life in Pendleton. He served his country in the Air Force.
He retired from the Shipping Department of Delco Remy Plants 18 and 20. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. George is survived by his loving spouse of 44 years, Ruth Ann McAtee Stevens, of Pendleton, IN, daughters: Julie Stevens and Jayme Tim Purkey, grandchildren, Alexis Stevens, Austin Boucher, Wesley Purkey and Brandon Purkey.
Also surviving are sisters, Evelyn Kuhns and Peggy Van Thomas, several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and special dog, Abby. He was preceded in death by father, George F. Stevens Sr. and mother, Mary Nickle Stevens, siblings, Bill Stevens, Patty Sanders and Eddie Hill.
