George Edward Schilling, Sr, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Monday August 8, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born May 20, 1939 in Bristol, son of the late George Robert and Katherine Dorothy (Bernard) Schilling.  

He was raised in Bristol and shortly after High School he began working for Eagle Locks in Terryville.  In April of 1963 he married the love of his life Eva Ann (Bouchard) Schilling and they raised their loving family of two, April May and George Edward, Jr.. George loved playing basketball with George Jr. and enjoyed going fishing with his family.  He will be remembered as a great husband and father.  He retired from Fletcher Terry Co. of Farmington where he was a machinist for 17 yrs.  George leaves his family with many cherished memories and will be deeply missed.  

Along with his wife Eva, he is survived by his daughter April May Schilling Cannon and her husband Leonard, III and their 2 sons Leonard Martin and Nathan Thomas of Bristol; his son George Edward Schilling, Jr. and his wife Deidre (Simon) Schilling and their children Marissa Marie, Joshua David and Jacob Matthew Schilling of Plainville.  He also leaves one sister Barbara (Schilling) McKee and her husband Richard of Thomaston and a brother Roger Douglas Schilling of Lakeland, FL, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  He also leaves many brothers and sisters in law, Jason Bouchard of Waterbury; Sandy and Bruce D’Amico of Vermont; Debbie McCusker of Vermont; Norman Bouchard and his wife Helen of NY; Lucille Bouchard Johnson and Al of Hawaii and Louise Bouchard of NC.
