Mr. George Edward Boate, 85, of Southbury died Saturday January 9th at his home after a long period of illness. He was the husband of Anella Boate for 55 years.
Mr. Boate was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived there until 1993 when he and Nell moved to Heritage Village in Southbury, Ct to be closer to their children. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School and later enlisted in the army to serve in WWII. After being injured on Leyte Island during the Philippine invasion, he received the Purple Heart and was awarded an honorable discharge.
