George Dale Stillwell, 92, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Lostant, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019.
George was born in 1927 in Lostant to George W. and Arliss (Griffin) Stillwell. He was a graduate of Lostant High School. He married Phyllis Jean Walborn on November 27, 1952 at St. Anthony’s Church in Spring Valley.
George served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was in the 267th QM Bakery Co. He was a lifelong farmer in the Lostant and Tonica area. He also enjoyed golfing.
He is survived by a daughter, Lori (Bob) Hines of Mesa, AZ; a son, Alan (Lisa) Stillwell of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Marcus Hines, Brittney Stillwell, Rick Cripe and Jennifer Pottala; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Bednar of Streator and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis on April 6, 2017; a daughter, Irene Cripe and a brother, Donald Stillwell.
