George C. Jackamonis of Burlington City passed away Thursday June 18, 2015 at the Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mt. Holly at the age of 71. Born in Mt. Holly, George was a lifelong Burlington resident. A Marine Corps veteran, he worked briefly for Rohm and Haas Co. in Bristol, PA after his discharge.

He then began a 30 year career as an owner/operator for McCollister’s, an agent of United Van Lines until his retirement. George loved his dogs and was very involved with Penny Angels Beagle Rescue. He also enjoyed compiling his family history and has traced the family back several hundred years.

He was predeceased by his mother and step-father Betty V. and Edward Hayner, his father George P. Jackamonis, his sister Cammi Mohr and his niece Victoria Lynn Mohr. George is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Charleen, his loyal companion Cooper, his daughters Allison Schuyler, Margaret Yousif and Tammy MacNeal, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, a special niece, Helen Mohr Ebeling who took great care of George and Charleen over the past three years. He is also survived by numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
