George Bernhard, 77, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021. Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, George was a long-time resident of Lavallette and Toms River.
George began his distinguished career in law enforcement as a Police Officer for the Jersey City Police Department. After service in Jersey City, he joined the Lavallette Police Department where he retired after many years of dedicated and honorable service.
George was a kind and giving person with a wonderful sense of humor. George will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
George was predeceased by his parents, Floyd and Irma as well as a brother, Richard. George was also predeceased by his much-loved son, George Bernhard in 1985. George is survived by his wife, Kathleen (nee Fagan), his two sons, Matthew Bernhard and wife Lisa and Kevin Bernhard, a brother Edward and his wife Sue, a sister Mary, and his two granddaughters, Georgia and Ava, who became the joys of his life, as well as many nieces and nephews.
