Mr. George Baron, Jr., age 87, beloved husband of Pauline Hricko Baron of Milford, passed away on Thursday, April 02, 2009 in the Hewitt Health and Rehabilitation Center, Shelton. Son of the late George and Anna Hajtovick Baron, he was born on March 19, 1922 in Sturges, PA. George served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II in the Pacific Theater, including Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan, and was a Purple Heart recipient. A heavy machine operator, he retired after 43 years from the Southern Connecticut Gas Company. He was a proud member of the Marine Corps League – Greater Bridgeport Detachment, and of the Devon VFW Post 7788 and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
