George Arthur Butler was born November 29, 1934 to Milo Dayton and Ethel May (Gast) Butler on the family farm in rural Owasa, Iowa. He attended the Owasa Community Schools graduating with the Class of 1953. He went on to Iowa State University where he graduated in 1955 with his degree in Agricultural Studies.
George Arthur Butler is survived by his daughters: Vicki Butler of Cincinnati, Ohio, Laurie Butler of Des Monies, Iowa, Luann Mothershead of Valencia, California, and Julie Butler of Pontiac, Michigan; and 2 grandchildren: Daniel Mothershead and Amanda (Jon) Popadics and one great-granddaughter: Adalyn Popadics; one sister Janice Granner of Seward, Nebraska; and one brother Charles Butler of Iowa Falls.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edith; and sister Norma Whiting.
