George Allen Margason, 79
George Allen Margason, 79, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away April 8, 2018 at Kootenai Health of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. He was born October 17, 1938 in Kellogg; George was the son of Lutheran and Anna (Schied) Margason.
George attended schools in Kellogg; he has lived in the Silver Valley all of his life. George proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
George married Frankie Tapper in 1962 in Coeur d’ Alene; Frankie passed away in 1981. He then married Sandra Butler in Kellogg; Sandra passed away in 2008.
George had first worked for the Bunker Hill Mining Company at the Zinc Plant. He then worked as a produce manager for Stein’s Grocery Store in Kellogg and Osburn for twenty-eight years. And then George lastly worked at Silver Mountain Ski Resort in maintenance for fifteen years, before he retired.
George was a member of the Osburn V.F.W. #1675 and a former member of the Kellogg Elks #1841.
George loved and enjoyed his family, cooking, fishing and camping on the North Fork of the Coeur d’ Alene River. He also enjoyed helping people with their yard work.
George is survived by two sons Mike (Lisa) Margason of Moon Gulch-Kellogg, Joe (Diana) Margason of Silverton, Idaho; two step-daughters Janene (Vijay) Chitmis of Beaverton, Oregon, Laura Shepler of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; one step-son Steve Taylor of Hayden, Idaho; thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two brothers James Margason of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Rich Margason of Kellogg, Idaho; one sister Joann Dolph of Post Falls, Idaho; several nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Frankie and Sandra and three sisters.
