George Albert Cool, age 81, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, died on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at St. Catherine’s Nursing Center in Emmitsburg.
Born September 16, 1929 in Emmitsburg, he was the son of the late George and Alice (Topper) Cool. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lillian (Wetzel) Cool.
George was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Emmitsburg. He worked as a supervisor of housekeeping at St. Joseph’s College in Emmitsburg, and later for Cambridge Rubber Factory, and retired from EVAPCO in Taneytown.
Surviving are children, Diane Bassler and husband Roy of Fairfield, PA, Denise Cool and companion Randy Turner of Thurmont, and Wayne Cool and wife Sandra of Taneytown; siblings, Sister Angela Cool, D.C. of Emmitsburg, Mildred Sponseller of Hanover, PA, Thelma Deatherage of Emmitsburg, Frances Hemler of Taneytown, Dick Cool of Thurmont, and Seton Cool of Emmitsburg.
Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; close friends Bo and Sylvia Bushman of Emmitsburg; and his devoted caregivers and nurses at St. Catherine’s Nursing Center.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kim Cool and by siblings, Cletus, Alan, Donald, Lewis, and Mary Alice Cool, and Louise Peters.
