George A. Figler, 78, went to be with our Lord on Monday, August 23, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Idamae Catherine Figler; father Donald Figler, Sr.; daughter Crystal Figler; mother Marion Figler (White); brother Donald Joseph Figler, Jr.; sisters: Virginia “Ginger” Figler, and Marilyn Post (Figler).

George is survived by his son Clifford Figler (Mary Ann); daughters: Kelly McGrew (Bruce), Tammy Weinar (Kristel), Bernadette Haney; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

George served in the Army in early 60’s. He married the love of his live, Idamae in 1963. They were inseparable until she passed in 2012. George was quite the character, he had a way of making everyone laugh with his quick wit and dry humor. George’s favorite hobbies were 3D puzzles, computer games, and watching Nascar. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhart.

George loved his family. He left his home in New York to be closer to his children and grandchildren in New Mexico. He was famous for telling children, “Not to stick anything smaller than their elbow in their ears”. He would then laugh as they tried. He was definitely a favorite among the residents at the long term care facility where he lived prior to his passing.

George is now reunited with Idamae in the presence of our Lord Jesus.
