Genowefa “Jean” Rymarz, 94, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Thursday morning, November 25, 2011 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center in Berrien Center.

Jean was born January 29, 1917 in East Chicago, Indiana to Albert and Katherine (Sapa) Dziepak. She spent her childhood in Poland before moving back to the United States.

She married Frank Rymarz in Chicago, Illinois and in 1938 Frank and Jean purchased a farm on Basswood Road in Three Oaks where they raised their 3 children. She canned the produce she grew and loved caring for her large flower garden.

Jean enjoyed meeting people and sharing her ideas with others.

In 1991 Jean and Frank moved into town where Jean continued to live until her health prevented it. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Three Oaks.

Survivors include her son, Edwin Rymarz of Bainbridge Island, Washington; grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank on April 9, 1995. Her daughters, Stella Rohr and Lorraine Beck; sisters, Emily Rock and Pauline Poczrtak and her brother Phillip Dziepak also preceded her in death.
