Geneva (Reed) Picatto, 93, of Oglesby, passed away February 12, 2018 at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley. Mrs. Picatto was born December 12, 1924 in Henderson, MD to Oliver and Catherine (Hurd) Reed. She served in the U.S. Army as a Nurses Assistant at Valley Forge Military Hospital in Phoenixville, PA during World War II, where she met and married Ben Picatto on October 2, 1945.
Mrs. Picatto worked at Indiana General in Oglesby. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Oglesby and the Oglesby American Legion. Survivors include two daughters, Catherine (Ronald) Kutz of Colorado Springs, CO and Diana (Albert) Roda of Oglesby; one son, Benjamin (Lorna) Picatto of Utica; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris “Kay” (Reed) Larimore and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ben on December 6, 1989; one sister and four brothers.
