Geneva Nickelston Biggs, 85, of 157 Dorothy Drive, Martinsville, VA died Friday, August 17, 2012 at Morehead Nursing Center, Eden, NC. She was born on October 12, 1926 in Lawsonville, NC to the late Herbert C. Nickelston and Cora Stovall Nickelston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, J. D. “Jeff” Davis Biggs, Jr.; daughter, Cecelia Anne Biggs; sisters, Pauline Nickelston and Nellie Hopkins Rakes; brothers, Frank Nickelston and Johnny Nickelston, William “Wille” Nickelston and special friend, Willard Arnold. Mrs. Biggs was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School Teacher for 41 years, a choir member, worked with the youth, sang with a family trio participated in the WMU and helped with the G. A. Girls. Mrs. Biggs worked for Lacy Manufacturing for 23 years and then retired from Rainbo Bread Store after working 23 years as manager. Surviving are her daughter, Tammy Biggs Davis and her husband, Tommy of Ridgeway, VA; sister, Eldean Atkins of Stanleytown, VA; brothers, Jimmy Nickelston of Burlington, NC and Bobby and Paul Nickelston both of Martinsville, VA and grandchildren, Makenzie Davis and Aaron Davis.
