Geneva Lucille Taber, 103, of Mitchellville, formerly of Newton and Kellogg, died on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at her home.
Lucille, the daughter of Ben and Sarah (King) Cunningham, was born on December 22, 1916 in Bucklin, Missouri. She grew up in Missouri. On February 10, 1937, Lucille was united in marriage with Leon Taber in Missouri. They made their home in Kellogg. In addition to raising her family, Lucille worked as an aide in Newton area nursing homes. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word books, and putting together puzzles. Lucille also liked engaging in spirited conversations and never had an issue voicing her opinion. Later in life, Lucille moved in with her daughter, Patricia. They first lived in Newton and recently moved to Mitchellville.
Lucille is survived by her daughter, Patricia Brown of Mitchellville; grandchildren, Dan (Tina) Brown, Mike (Angela) Taber, II, Galen Beintema, Jill (Hoyt) Grimes, and Nancy (Mike) Van Peursem; daughters-in-law, Bev Taber, Cherry Taber, and Jean Taber; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon Taber; 13 siblings; her children, Joy LaVert Beintema, David Taber, Delvin Taber, Michiel Taber, and Kirk Taber; and two grandsons, Jay Taber and Scott Beintema.
