Gaynelle Wilson Stanley, 86, of 505 Woodlawn Ave., Martinsville, VA died Monday, June 21, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville/Henry County. She was born on December 31, 1923 in Roanoke, VA to the late E. G. “Willie†Wilson and Nora Griffin Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Gracie Rice, Eva Flagg, Agnes Burks and Lillian Croft and brother, Eugene Wilson. Mrs. Stanley was a member of Starling Avenue Baptist Church and the Scripture Gleeners Sunday School Class. Also, she served on the Bereavement Meals Committee. Mrs. Stanley retired after 27 years as an inspector for Tultex Corp. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Stanley of Martinsville, VA, Linda Conner (David) of Collinsville, VA and Joyce Johnnides (Victor) of Jacksonville, FL; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Stanley (Judy) of Ridgeway, VA and Andrew Stanley and significant other, Susan Gerson of Greensboro, NC; sister, Minnie Jones of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Dana Richardson (Brent) of Concord, NC, Brian Conner (Laura) of Humble, TX, Christopher Johnnides (Ann) of Broomfield, CO, Michael Johnnides (Shawn) of Tokyo, Japan, Bradley Stanley (Juanita) of Ridgeway, VA and Crystal Wyatt (Jason) of Axton, VA; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
