Gayl D. Day, 95, died at Fairwinds-Sand Creek in Idaho Falls, on Saturday, July 26, 2014. She was under hospice care. She was born on April 1, 1919, in Harrisburg, PA, the daughter of Rev. Edwin B. Harris and Mary E. Dando Harris. She married Clyde J. Day on May 31, 1941. He predeceased her as did her daughter, Janet L. Tobin. Gayl attended Albright College in Reading, PA, and later graduated from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque with a degree in library science and education. She taught full-time at Emerson Elementary School in Idaho Falls and also was a substitute teacher at other local schools.
