GayAnn (Long) Shuck, 84, of Linthicum, passed away on May 8, 2022. She was born on December 8, 1937, in Cumberland, MD, to the late George Long and Freda Robinette.
GayAnn is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Dennis Shuck; their four children, Mike Shuck and his wife, Janet (daughters, Amanda and Kristen), Kim Maines (daughters, Danielle and Rebecca), Larry Shuck and his wife, Cris (sons, JR and his wife, Melanie, and Ridge) and Janice Pevo and her husband, Jeff; In addition, GayAnn is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
GayAnn attended Allegany High School in Cumberland where she graduated with honors and was voted Most Valuable Female Athlete her senior year. After graduation, GayAnn attended Catherine’s Business School and earned certifications in typing, bookkeeping and shorthand. Later, she put her skills to work at the Celanese Plant and the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company in Cumberland. On June 14, 1958, GayAnn married the love of her life, Dennis Shuck, at St. Michael’s Church in Frostburg, MD. Shortly after, they moved to Baltimore where she was employed by Grant’s and Central Data Processing. When GayAnn was not busy working and raising her family, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, bowling and bingo.
