Gay Kepple (67) of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday January 17th. She was born in Bartlesville Oklahoma to 1948 Olympic Basketball Coach Omar “Bud “ Browning and his wife Betty. She was the baby of the family with three older siblings. She enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, gymnastics, and cheerleading. Her first 11 summers were spent at the Rabbit Ears Lodge near Kremmling, CO. She graduated in 1972 from Bartlesville’s College High School and she attended Oklahoma State University. She was married on January 26th 1980 to James “Jim” Kepple. They had 1 child from a previous marriage Jason Thomas Kepple, and 3 children together, James Browning Kepple, Cherity Lynn Kepple Rodriguez, and Amber Kay Kepple Willis. Gay always affectionately referred to herself as “Gay and Gang” which was just one expression of her deep love for her family. She enjoyed many travel trailer adventures around the country.
She is survived by her husband Jim Kepple (loving family pet Oreo), of Colorado Springs, CO and children Jason Kepple and wife Sarah of Tulsa OK, James Kepple and wife Oleksandra of New York, NY, Cherity Rodriguez and husband Angel of Colorado Springs, CO, Amber Willis and husband Tim of Deer Park, TX. Also survived by 10 grandchildren: Hunter and Hayden Kepple, Selena, Cynthia, Xavier, and Eli Rodriguez, Camryn and Morgan Meredith, Hunter and Chloe Willis and siblings Jill Eccleston and husband Jim of Tulsa Ok, Tex Browning and wife Ruth Anne of Franklin, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents Omar and Betty Browning and sibling Kay Caldwell.
