Gary Wissing the son of Lester and Sherrill (Rhodes) Wissing was born January 18, 1962 at Superior, Nebraska. He departed this life on Saturday May 27, 2017 at his home in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 55 years.
Gary was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport, Nebraska on February 18, 1962 and confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Superior, Nebraska in 1975. He attended 2R country school near Superior through the 8th grade and graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1980.
Gary was married to Beth Parsons on December 8, 1984 at McCook, NE to this union three children were born. This marriage ended in divorce and Gary was then married to Genelle Czirr on September 18, 1999 at Superior, Nebraska. Gary and Genelle lived Hastings, Nebraska. Gary made Custom Harvesting his life’s work, he dearly loved this job. He had been employed by David & Figgins Harvesting among many other harvesting crews throughout the years.
Gary was a member of the US Custom Harvesters and the Rock Island Country Club. Gary loved his nickname “Grandpa Wheat” and he had always held a special place in this heart for his cats.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law Evan Czirr.
Survivors include his wife Genelle Czirr Wissing of Hastings, NE; daughter Jessica Wissing of Great Bend, KS; sons: Jeromey Wissing of Holyrood, KS and Joshua Wissing of Larned, KS; parents Lester and Sherrill Wissing of Superior, NE, sister Lana Christiansen of Minden, NE; 1 grandchild Lennon Johnson of Great Bend, Kansas, other relatives and a host of friends.
