Gary Scott Allen, 27, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 unexpectedly at his home. A native of Shelbyville, he attended college at Jefferson Community Technical College. He worked at Pegasus Industries and Packaging, unloading trucks. As a youngster, he enjoyed skateboarding, paintball, dirt bikes and fishing. He also enjoyed working out at the gym. Most recently, he served as a counselor at the Hope Center in Lexington. He attended Shelby Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Scott Allen and his grandfather, Gary Lee Jones.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia J. “P.J.” Allen Martin of Shelbyville; one sister, Samantha Martin of Taylorsville; his grandmother (Nana), Darleen Jones of Shelbyville; his grandfather, Fred Allen of Shelbyville; his stepfather, Dwight Martin of Taylorsville; one stepbrother, Kevin (Susie) Martin of Bardstown; three stepsisters, Stacie Cloud of Antioch, CA, Dawn (Clinton) Matthews of Shelbyville and Julie (Gerald) Spencer of Taylorsville; one niece, Ariana Martin of Taylorsville; his girlfriend, Ashley Morley of Lexington and a host of step-nieces, step-nephews, other relatives and friends.
