Gary Leo Meyers, 74, of Urbandale passed away on January 12, 2022. He was born February 21, 1947, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Mark Wayne and Harriett Meyers.
Gary is a Vietnam vet, having served with the United States Marine Corps from 1967-1969. In 1970, he married his loving wife, Jan and they spent 51 years together making wonderful memories. Together they have three children.
Gary had a long-standing career in automotive sales. He started his career in 1970 at Chrysler Plymouth where he worked until 1978. He continued his stellar sales career at Crescent Chevrolet from 1978-1985. In 1985, Gary began selling cars at Bob Brown Chevrolet, where he worked until retirement in 2014.
Gary’s greatest loves were his family, his enviable yard and his labs, especially Beau and Casey. His bond with Casey was special and memorable. Gary enjoyed the simple things in life… a quiet morning reading the newspaper while drinking a cup of coffee, sitting on his deck overlooking his perfectly manicured lawn, grilling dinner for his family and watching the Chicago Bears.
Gary is survived by his wife, Jan; children, Joe Meyers of West Des Moines, Jeff Meyers of Adel, and Lori (Ryan) Martin of Adel and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark Wayne and Harriett Meyers and his brother, Mark A. Meyers.
