Williamsport, MD – Gary Ernest Brower, 83, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Sterling Care South Mountain in Boonsboro, MD.
He was born on May 6, 1939, in Crawford, Nebraska to the late Wray Ernest Brower and Catherine Rector Brower Digby.
Gary is survived by his wife of 58 years, Naomi M. Brower; two sons, James E. Brower and his wife Nicole of Ashburn, VA; Jay R. Brower and his partner Tanya Jamieson of Fort Collins, CO; granddaughters Krya Brower of Charleston, SC and Lauren Brower of Richmond, VA; grandson Trey Brower of Fort Collins, CO; brother James M. Brower of Tooele, Utah.
Gary was a 1957 graduate of North Central High School in Spokane, Washington. He attended Whitmore College and Northeastern College in Spokane, WA and Weber State in Ogden, UT.
He served in the Army in Fort Ord, CA, in 1959. Then completed his service obligation with the Army Reserve in Fort Lawton, WA and the Air National Guard in Martinsburg, WV.
He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport, MD. He was also a member of Williamsport Lions Club, Elks Lodge #378 of Hagerstown, MD and Dixon-Troxell American Legion Post #211 of Funkstown, MD.
Gary had a passion for Civil War relic hunting and coin collecting. He enjoyed traveling and gardening.
