Gary Dean Shaw
(December 19, 1942 –  August 6 2021)

Gary Dean Shaw was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend with a great sense of humor, intellect, and a generous, compassionate nature.

Gary had an entertaining sense of humor and enjoyed telling funny stories and jokes and would chuckle to himself while telling them. Gary enjoyed the snow and provided his wife and children with many days of skiing and snowmobiling. He loved desserts and would often nudge a child or grandchild and say, “bring me a little brownie (or cookie)”.

He excelled in his studies throughout his life and graduated with academic honors from high school. Gary loved his country.  He became a member of the Junior ROTC after 3 years of training in high school. Later, He graduated with distinction from the Army Engineer Officer Candidate Course and became a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army.

His career path started in construction and then he became a successful home builder. Gary was a trendsetter in the building industry and was known for the highly sought after “Tallequah” tri-level home design and the sunken jet tub design.

Gary passed into the next life on August 6, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Gary is survived by his wife, Carolyn, his four children and their spouses, Michael (& Kami), Rebekah (& Timothy), David (& Susan), Susanne (& Mike), and 18 beautiful grandchildren. He will be missed greatly.

Dad, thanks for all the memories and love you have given us over the years. Thanks for teaching us to work and mow that huge lawn at the North Ranch. Thanks for waking us up early by jabbing your fingernails into the bottom of our feet to go and clean your houses. Thanks for your sense of humor that will continue on for generations. Thanks for holding us with those big soft hands of yours and for your comforting bear hugs. We love you!
