Gareth “Gary” D. Simon Age 76 of Corunna passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be held 11am Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes-Owosso Chapel with Rev. Ray Strawser officiating. Burial will take place at Yerian Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Homes-Owosso Chapel on Saturday from 2pm to 8pm.Gary was born July 13, 1941 in Flint, the son of Dale and Nina (Redburn) Simon.He graduated from Atherton High School.Gary was a member of Local 599 and enjoyed trips in the R.V. and put zing around the yard. He loved time with family and he especially looked forward to attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Gary was an avid hockey fan and was a huge Detroit Redwings fan.He married Lenore Kingsbury in Burton on April 8, 1989.Gary retired from General Motors Buick after 40 years of service.He is survived by his wife Lenore; children Greg (Tami) Simon, Lynette (Marty) Wirth and Gennifer Simon (Nick Batsios); step-children Tredd (Christi) Morris, Tadd Morris and Amme Knight (Greg Lundgren); grandchildren Cortney (Josh) Peelman, Travis (Cecily) Simon, Taylor Simon (Chelsea), Ella Batsios, Tredd (Brittany) Morris Jr., Stephanie (Brian) Weingartz, Fisher Morris, Lauren Knight and Sam Knight; great-grandchildren Katelyn Simon, Bryce Morris and Ashlynn Weingartz; many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
