Genevieve A. “Jenny” Gallo, 85, of Breese, formerly of Aviston, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Countryside Manor in Aviston. She was born January 28, 1927 in Aviston, daughter of George L. and Mabel L. (Poos) Gerstner. She married James G. “Jim” Gallo on May 6, 1950 in Aviston and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2005. Mrs. Gallo is survived by a sister, Rose Marie “Butz” Erwin of Lebanon; nieces and nephews, Stuart (Janis) Erwin, Deborah (Scott) Ford, Allan (Terry) Buratti, Amy Buratti, Patti (Kevin) Murphy, and Judy (George Emeigh) Gallo; a sister-in-law, Lena Buratti of Pittsburgh, PA; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Gallo of Penn Run, PA; she is also survived by great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James G. and Lena Gallo; two brothers-in-law, Fred J. Erwin and John Gallo; and three sisters-in-law, Josephine Shutco, Rose Bernard, and Frances Cunningham. Mrs. Gallo was retired from Scott Air Force Base where she was an administrative assistant. She was a member of St. Augustine Parish, the St. Monica Altar Sodality and the Resurrection Choir all in Breese. She enjoyed lunches with her friends at the senior citizen center, and quilt bingo.
