Gale Joseph Weatherford, 96, Anderson, passed away September 22, 2008 at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born May 20, 1912 in Hicks, Indiana, and resided in Anderson all of his life. He was a graduate of Anderson High School. He retired from Production Control at Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 44 years of service. He helped his father take care of the family farm as a young man. He is a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Anderson where he served as an Elder.
He is survived by his wife whom he married December 19, 1936, Norma Jane Cook Weatherford; three children, Sarah Weatherford of Anderson, Lanny Becky Weatherford of Anderson and Jan Cheryl Weatherford of Anderson; brother, David Garnet Weatherford of Anderson; sisters, Marge Jack Hamilton of California, Barbara Carroll Burke of Pendleton and Betty Lou Gene Crosley of Tennessee; six grandchildren, Patricia Weatherford, Richard Vickers, Michael Clara Vickers, Cathy Jay Porter, Nikki Greg Eastes and Lindsay Chris Sparks; four great grandchildren, Kylie Porter, Jacob Porter, Hannah Vickers and Rachel Vickers. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira & Ruby Mae Buchanan Weatherford; five sisters and two brothers.
