Gale Edward Hutton Sr., 92, passed away Tuesday Sept. 2, 2014 in Franklin.

He was a resident of Greenwood. Gale was born May 15, 1922 in Indianapolis to Andrew I. Hutton and Mable A. (McCurnes) Hutton.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II, where he participated in the invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He married Vivian Bernice Brown on May 27, 1966 in Bloomington; they were married for 48 years. Gale was a truck driver for Transport Motor Express, retiring in 1979.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Whiteland Post and Local Teamsters 135. For 30 years Gale had a Lemonade-Shakeup and Corn Dog stand at the Indiana Sate Fair. He owned and operated the Hutton Janitorial Service and Hubcaps Galoor.

He is survived by his wife Vivian Hutton of Greenwood, eight children, Gale E. Hutton Jr. of Trafalgar, Ellen F.( Herb) Trout of Florida, Millie A. (Rudy) Salanga of Tennessee, Andrew G. Hutton of Indianapolis, Kimberly L. (Mike) Simon of Franklin, Melissa L. Adams and Rita-Gayle Hutton both of Greenwood and Paula D. (Aaron) Dorsey of Whiteland, 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and two sisters and a grandson, Joshua Gale Nelson.
