Gail Marie (Schmitt) Jaegle, 77, of rural Tonica, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2021, joining her husband, Dale and son, Mark Dale.
Gail was born November 23, 1944 in St. Mary’s Hosital in LaSalle to Leonce and Clara (Pflibsen) Schmitt. She was a graduate of Tonica High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Dale Louis Jaegle on August 17, 1963 at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Leonore. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage before he passed away on April 23, 2009.
Gail was a homemaker and enjoyed working with her husband on their farms. She was a volunteer at Lily Pads in Peru for many years. She enjoyed vacations to Wisconsin with her sisters. She adored her grandchildren and especially enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynn (Kelly) Neill of Oglesby and Laura (Edward) Schreier of Lostant; two grandchildren, Gianna and Brock Neill; two sisters, Joanie (Daniel) Wiesbrock and Jane Lock; one brother, Dean Schmitt and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Mark Dale Jaegle and two brothers, Virl Schmitt and Duane Schmitt.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Neill, Brock Neill, Edward Schreier, Martin Wiesbrock, Jason Wiesbrock and Ronnie Wiesbrock.
