Gail George Rees Jr, 78 passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. due to Covid-19.

Gail was born December 8, 1942, in Perry, IA to Gail and Dorothy (Offenhauser) Rees. He started his education in Dallas Center but moved to Colorado where he graduated from Keenesburg High School. He owned and operated a Texaco service station in Greeley for about 18 years and later started Triple R Transportation delivering fuel to stations for about 10 years.

In the 1990’s Gail enjoyed going to Bandimere Speedway with his family and spent almost every weekend at the track. They have many trophies to show for their wins.

After his retirement, Gail, Sharon and their dog Shilo loved to travel in their Motorhome to Arizona or to the mountains. They enjoyed traveling with friends and sometimes there would be a group that traveled together. They liked to go to the mountains with his folks for a picnic lunch. Gail was always making people laugh. He had such special friends and neighbors in Greeley as well as everywhere he went.

Gail is survived by his wife, Sharon Wineland of Grimes, two sons, Eric and Chad Rees and his first wife, Debbie Rees, all of Greeley, three grandchildren Katie, Dustin, and Evan Rees of Greeley, CO; his aunt and uncle Max and CA Rees of Adel, IA. step-daughter, Shelly (Jim) Brown of Grimes, IA; step-son, Mike (Lynette) Wineland of Madrid, IA; step-grandchildren, Connor Wineland of Grimes, IA and Jordan (Brianna) Wineland of Sioux City, IA; step-great-grandchildren, Jadyn and Josie Wineland and Taylor (Zach) Wineland; his sister, Karan Jakel of Estes Park, CO; three brothers, Richard (Pam) Rees of Schuyler, NE, Ted (Candy) Rees of AZ and John (Cindy) Rees of Fort Myers, FL; and several nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Gail Rees.
