G. Jay Faulkner
Jay Faulkner, age 64, of Bethel, CT, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014. He was the husband of Jennifer Johnson and father of Lauren and Kate Faulkner all of Bethel.
He was born June 21, 1949 in Danbury, CT to Lenore (LaRoza) Faulkner and the late George N. Faulkner of Danbury. He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School in automotives in 1969.
In his youth, Jay was a volunteer fireman at the Mill Plain Fire House. After graduating high school, he was the last man drafted from Danbury into the Army and served at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Upon his honorable discharge he moved to Texas and worked for Yellow Freight for five years before returning to Connecticut in the early 70s. Jay founded A-1 Custom Clean and worked in the industry for several years. After marrying, he went to work for Coca-Cola for a short time, then finishing 15+ years at Yellow Freight.
He is also survived by brothers Paul of Danbury, Karl of Southbury, and sister Lenore of Danbury, as well as many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his Father, and sister Jan Faulkner.
