Frieda (Quehl) Slater, 74 of Newington, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Slater. Born in San Salvador, El Salvador, she lived in East Hartford and South Windsor before most recently residing in Newington. She is survived by her three children, Nelson Figeac and his wife Sandra of Smithfield, VA, Gustavo Figeac and his wife Loretta of Dayton, Texas and Jackie Gillian of West Palm Beach, Florida and 9 grandchildren. She also leaves many siblings and nieces and nephews in El Salvador, and a large and loving family of friends including Tomàs Maldonado of West Hartford who was her devoted caretaker.
