Freida Alberta (Scott) Cochran was born November 6, 1921 in Derby, Iowa and passed peacefully into heaven July 5, 2014. She and Archie eloped October 15, 1940 and spent 59 years together before Archie’s death in 1999. They lived on a farm between Chariton and Derby for most of those years before retiring in Humeston. Freida lived her last three years at Valley View Village Assisted Living in Des Moines, Iowa. Freida’s powerful loving force for her family will be so missed. Her homemade fudge, noodles and pies are legendary within her family. Each family member was blessed with at least one quilt which was a hand pieced, hand quilted work of art.
