Fredrick “Fred’ E. Boettcher, the son of Richard and Ruth Hall Boettcher, was born August 3, 1939 in Sherman, Wisconsin. He attended Northwestern Maple School in Maple, Wisconsin. 

On June 25, 1971, Fred was untied in marriage to Jeannie L. Kingery in Kellogg, Iowa. He worked 27 years for Mid-West Manufacturing. When he retired in 1996, he was working as a Grotness Operator. He was a member of GMP Local 74B and in those times when he could sneak away, he loved to go fishing and hunting. 

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; his foster parents; his son, Lewis Hobbs in 1996; brother, Frank Boettcher in 1989. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Jeannie of Kellogg; his daughter and son-in-law, Jenise and Kevin Huizenga of Newton; his daughter-in-law, Jeri Hobbs Smith of Newton; his seven grandchildren, Jory Ringler, Jacob, Kendra, and Kylea Huizenga of Newton; and Lewis Jr.
