Monson-Frederick J. Baxter, 90, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022. Fred was born in Grays, Essex, England and immigrated to the United States with his wife and three young children in 1966. He had a vast and interesting work career from the Mercantile Navy working on Orient Lines cruise ships, textile manufacturing including a position of VP of Manufacturing for Johnson and Johnson. Upon his retirement from the manufacturing, he and his wife Margaret owned and operated Baxter’s Echo Hill Orchard in Monson for many years.
Frederick was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Margaret J. Baxter in 2018. He leaves his daughters, Sarah A. Baxter and her husband Barry Bedward of Monson, Louise C. Fleck and her husband Michael of Loris, SC.; a son, Nicholas M. Baxter and his wife Toni of Conway, SC; five grandchildren, Nicholas Jr, Amanda, Eric, Margaret and Mark and six great grandchildren. He also leaves his nephew and best friend Peter Wilson and family.
