Frederick C. Knauss Jr. of Elkhart died Thursday (Aug. 4, 2011) from injuries sustained in a motorcycle-car accident in Goshen.
He was born Aug. 8, 1984, in Elkhart, to Frederick C. and Pamela A. (Nolen) Knauss Sr.
Frederick is preceded in death by his father, Frederick C. Knauss Sr., and grandfather Jerry Nolen Sr.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Pam (Ray) Aldridge of Rochester; a daughter, Savannah Pettry of Rochester; grandparents Carmen and Walter VonEhr of Elkhart, Beverly Geller of Rochester and Richard Knauss Sr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; great-grandmother Mildred Conley of Rochester; fiancée Jessica Salazar of Elkhart; sisters Amber Knauss-Pressey of Kokomo and Ashley (Brent) Corn of Peru; uncles Richard (Karen) Knauss Jr., Ted (Deanna) Knauss and Dale (Shelley) Deisinger, all of Elkhart, and Jerry (Tracy) Nolen of Rochester; aunts Yvonne (Mike) Smith of Fayette, Tenn., Yvette (Doug) Starke of Virginia Beach Va., and Eva (Hop) Harper of Elkhart; also three step-sisters, one stepbrother and many nieces and nephews.
Frederick was working at Hoosier Pallet and formerly worked for Universal Pallet and Kline’s Ready Rooter. He was passionate about racing and anything that went fast: ATVs, personal watercraft or motorcycles, “Fast Freddie,” as he was known to family and friends, lived life to the fullest in the short time he was here. He also liked to fish, collect Harley-Davidson T-shirts and pink lighters and enjoyed his mother’s porridge.
