Muncie-Fred M. Spence, 77, passed away early Monday morning, October 10, 2011, following a brief illness at his residence. He was born on, March 11, 1934, in Eaton, Indiana, the son of Harry and Mary (Young) Spence.
Mr. Spence married June (Davis) Spence on November 22, 1953 in Muncie and she preceded him in death on December 24, 2005. He had worked in the Curing Cellar for Marhoefer Meats for 22yrs. and later the Muncie Community Schools system as a Custodian for 17yrs. prior to his retirement in 1994. Fred was a member of the Delaware F&AM Lodge #46 since 1977 and also the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by three sons, David Spence I (Dee Ann) and Jim Spence (Sue) both of Muncie and Travis Spence, Tucson, Arizona; three daughters, Nancy A. Spence, Sandy Burke (Mike) and Debbie Spence, all of Muncie; two brothers, Dale Spence (Darlene) and John Spence (Bonnie), both of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Pat Holdren, Eaton; 9 grandchildren, Michele Bragg(Adam), Upland, Jason Spence (Dawn Ya), Parker City, Mandy Gossage (Grady), New Castle, Kim Bollinger (Seth), Cicero, Chris Buck (April), Brownsburg, David Spence II (Brandy), Selma, Helen Leach (Paul), Blackford County, Cody Burke, and Jesse Spence (Brandi), both of Muncie and Dylan Critton, Parker City; 18 great grandchildren, Drew, Nick, Tyler, Alexiah, David III, Jackson, Layton, Max, Jayla, Gabrielle, Aubrey, Zane, Zoë, Eli, Lilly, Alexis, Amelia and Layla; a special niece, Bonnie Stellwag (Walt), Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
