Fred L. “Ted†Wellborn, Jr., 59, of 2941 Spring Road Garden Rd, Chatham, VA died Sunday, July 8, 2012 in Danville Regional Medical Center. Born February 5, 1953 in Section, AL, he was the son of Miriam Doub Gregory and the late Fred L. Wellborn, Sr. He was married to Jacqueline Foster “Jackie†Wellborn of the residence. Ted was a truck driver for many years and was last employed by Hardy Petroleum. He was a member of Shockoe Baptist Church and attended Danville Community College. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his sons, Jonathan A. Wellborn of Eden, NC, Robert S.Wellborn and wife, Mary Beth, and Jeffrey M. Wellborn and wife, Melinda, all of Chatham and a step-son, Louis B. Smith of GA. Ted is further survived by his six grandchildren and three step-brothers, Jimmy, Sam and Robert Gregory. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his step-father, James B. Gregory, Sr.
