Fred J. Wallbaum, 70, of rural Waverly, IL died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
He was born January 14, 1946 in Jacksonville, IL, the son of Charles F. and Mary Lucille Ryan Wallbaum. He married Phyllis Graham on October 16, 1965 in Franklin, IL and she survives.
He is also survived by two children, Wendy Meyer (husband, Scott) of Franklin and Mike Wallbaum (wife, Karen) of Waverly; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Bergschneider (husband, Tom) of Franklin and Catherine Ryan of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Charles W. Wallbaum and Mary Meyer.
Fred was a 1964 graduate of Franklin High School and served with the US Army during the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. He was employed by ACH Foods of Jacksonville for over 40 years. He was an avid hunter both locally and across the country and was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He also enjoyed travel experiences and collecting Indian artifacts.
