Fred J. Klaye, 92, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Hospice House in Elkhart, IN, following an illness.
Fred was born on February 6, 1922 to the late John and Cecilia (Kornfeind) Klabusich in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident.
He was retired from Bendix Corporation, where he worked as a Steel Buyer for 30 years.
Beloved father of Judith De Volpi of Bolingbrook, IL; Jeannie (Mahlon) Wise of South Bend, IN; beloved grandfather of Michael Myers of Aurora, IL; Rachael Wise of Chicago, IL; Daniel Wise of Indianapolis, IN; and his sister, Ann Klabusich of Mishawaka, IN.
Fred was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II; and a former commander of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #8748 in South Bend.
Cremation has taken place.
