Fred Harmon, 76, Indianapolis passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013. He was born March 19, 1937 in Indianapolis to the late Earl and Velma (Hammond) Harmon. Fred married Shirley (Weaver) April 24, 1955 in Indianapolis, and she survives. Fred was involved in the ice manufacturing business for 51 years. At the age of 18 he began working for National Ice Company and spent the last 17 years of his career as the owner of Bluegrass Ice Company in Elizabethtown, KY.
Other survivors are daughters Lora (Tom)Civils of Indianapolis, Melanie (Robert) Purdue of Mooresville, Tracey (Ron) Wilkins of Greenwood, Angi (Jeb) Dickens of Greenwood; brothers Charles (Charlene) Harmon of Greenwood, Frank (Jean) Harmon of Greenwood, Richard (Kalynn) Harmon of Franklin; sisters Alice (William) Dragoo of Amity, Helen Kissee of Greenwood, Fay (Charlie) Hayes of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by daughter Pamela Harmon; sisters Mary Logsdon, Nancy Ledger, and Patty Harmon.
