Fred Fritz Mini Jr., 89, of Peru, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle following a lengthy illness.
Fritz was born February 16, 1927 in Dalzell to Fred and Elsie (Lawton) Mini. He married Lillian Cherny on July 2, 1949 in the First Congregational Church in Peru. He was a graduate of Hall High School.
Fritz was one of the original members of the Dalzell Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He proudly served in U.S. Navy aboard the USS Boxer during World War II. He was a member of First Congregational Church in Peru.
Survivors include Lil, his wife of over 66 years; daughter, Faye Mini-Reyman of Springfield; grandson, Mika (Jacqui) Mini-Reyman and great-granddaughter, Kinsley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
