Fred DeWitt Roe, age 77, of Kodak, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 25, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 7, 1937 in Spring Place, GA He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Claud Roe; sisters, Claudell McWhorter and Edna Roe; brothers, Charles, Dennis and Terry Roe; mother-in-law, Duzzie Moore.
He is survived by his wife of 46 ½ years, Phyllis Moore Roe of Kodak, TN.; sons, Robby Roe, Daniel Ferrell and Tony Smith all of Kodak.; grandchildren, Bryson Ferrell of Cookville, TN., Brianna Ferrell , Alexis Ferrell and Daniel Ferrell, Jr. all of Kodak, TN., Aydien Smith of Knoxville, TN. And special granddaughter, Jacky Ortiz of Kodak, TN.; brother, Jerry Roe of Cohutta, GA.; sister, Barbara (Bob) Pierce of Tennga, GA.; brother-in-law, John A. Moore of Cleveland, TN.; sister-in-laws, Kay Moore of Rocky Face. GA.; Kay (Doug) Curtis of Chattanooga, TN. and special thanks to sister-in-law, Kimmy Holliday of Kodak, TN.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Thanks to Dr. McCachren and staff of Thompson Oncology in Knoxville, TN.; a very special thanks to all the nurses and other staff of Caris Hospice Care in Sevierville, TN.
