Fred Dee Jensen, 59, passed away on November 21, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family, due to a short battle with cancer.

Fred was born on June 19, 1948 in Dragerton, UT to Dale and Donna (Norton) Jensen. He was raised in Wellington and served a 1967 mission in the central states. Fred was a long time coal miner of the Carbon County area. While in Carbon County, he married Susan Annette Pointer on July 2, 1982 in Wellington, Utah. Fred and Annette resided in Price where they began their family and later moved to Hayden, CO where Fred continued his mining career. Fred’s family spent several years in Colorado then later made a career change as a state road inspector, which led him and his family to Raleigh, NC.

Fred was the heart and soul of his wife, Annette, which he loved so dearly. He was so grateful to his children for all the love and care they gave him throughout his life, but especially at the time of his illness.

He had a distinctive charisma and wit that transpired spirit to any crowd surrounding him. Fred had a passion for being around his friends, which extended to their expeditions in Castle Valley desert(s). He had a special love sharing his experiences with his family. His hobbies were metal detecting, golfing, his garden, and fishing in Alaska.
