Fred Credi, 85, of Peru, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru. He was born February 10, 1922 in Ladd to Fred and Maria (Picceoni) Credi. He worked at Union Carbide/ Bakelite/ American Hoechst in Ottawa until retiring in 1982.
He served in the U.S. Army as a quartermaster during World War II. He had been stationed in Iran and Iraq, and later in the China-Burma-India Theatre. He also worked for the CCC in Wisconsin. He married Grace Truskowski on May 10, 1947 in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Spring Valley.
He was a member of St. Josephs Church, Peru. He is survived by: his wife, Grace Credi of Peru; 2 sons, Thomas (Connie) Credi of LaSalle, and Daniel (Marelyn) Credi of Peru; 2 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; 2 step grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 3 brothers, Quinto (Jean) Credi of Atlanta Georgia, Joseph Credi of Peru; and Dominic (Marilyn) Credi of San Jose California; and 1 sister, Liza Wold of Ottawa.
He was preceded by: his parents; 1 brother; 1 sister; and 1 grandson.
