Fred A. Augusti (Age 77) On Sunday, October 2, 2016, in Manassas, VA, Fred Augusti passed away in peace, in the comfort of his own home and surrounded by family. A dear husband of 53 years to JoAnn Augusti. The loving father of Mark Augusti, Michael \u0026amp; Dawn Augusti, Marijo \u0026amp; Wells Petras and Melissa and Eric Spagnoli. A doting grandfather of nine cherished grandchildren: Luca, Giovanni, Josephine, Pierce, Noah, Bryce, Melissa, Shyla and Lauren. Fred began his career as an Electrical Engineer with IBM and retired as a Program Manager with Lockheed Martin. During his distinguished career from 1963-2001, Fred was extensively involved in the development of the Navy’s sonar systems and finished his career managing the DOD’s Defense Message System (DMS) program. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Pierce Funeral Home on Thursday Oct. 6th (6-9 p.m.) with a Funeral Service at All Saints Catholic Church on Friday Oct. 7th at 10 a.m. For Memorial Giving one can either send flowers to Pierce Funeral Home at 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA 20110 or a donation can be made in Fred’s name to The Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (lungcancerfoundation.org). A Celebration of Life reception will held in the Mountain View Card Room at Heritage Hunt Country Club, 6901 Arthur Hills Drive, Gainesville, VA 20155 Friday October 7th, 11:30am – 3pm
